Girona

Girona

The name Girona comes from the Roman city of Gerunda.

It is known as the city of the 4 rivers, since it crosses the Ter, the Güell, the Galligants and the Onyar. The latter is popular thanks to the bridges that cross it and the colorful houses located on its shore.

In Girona we can find the majestic Cathedral of Santa Maria, which has the second widest Gothic nave in the world, the old town, the impressive wall, the Jewish Quarter (Call Jueu), the Archaeological Walk with its Arab Baths, the picturesque houses of l'Onyar and many more things to visit.

Dalí Theatre-Museum

Dalí Theatre-Museum

Figueres, located about 35 km from Cadaqués, was the city where the great renowned Catalan painter, Salvador Dalí, was born in 1904 and where the Dalí Theatre-Museum is located, officially opened in 1974 and built on the ruins of the old Figueres Theatre.

The Gala-Salvador Dalí Foundation manages the museum that is entirely dedicated to the work of this great painter and is considered "the largest surrealist object in the world".

Together with the Dalí House-Museum in Cadaqués and the Gala-Dalí Castle in Púbol, this impressive and striking museum forms the so-called "Dalinian triangle".
